The MHF Board at its October 1, 2013 meeting, voted to sign a letter of support for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Stewardship and Oversight Act of 2013 which is working its way through Congress. PEPFAR has been a program which faith communities have supported in the past and has made a significant positive impact on the AIDS pandemic. The letter was initiated by members of Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH). MHF joined CCIH a year ago at the invitation of MHF member, Ray Martin, who serves as Executive Director of CCIH. Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) are also among the membership of CCIH which is headquartered in McLean, Virginia. More information at ccih.org.
