Annual Gathering Speakers Announced: Laurelville 2024

Join us September 27th-29th for an Inspiring Weekend!

We are so excited to announce the keynote speakers for Annual Gathering 2024! We have gathered a delightful group of ethicists, nurses, doctors, and more from all over the world to share with us and provoke us to deeper thought around Living an Anabaptist Health Ethic and celebrating MHF’s 80th Anniversary!

We will announce two of our keynote speakers today and two next week – so stay tuned! (Or take a sneak peek by looking at the schedule under “Annual Gathering 2024” tab on our website!)

Our first two Keynote Speakers for Annual Gathering 2024 at Laurelville Are: 

Dr. Joe Kotva

Joe Kotva, PhD is a former Mennonite pastor, avid cyclist, lifelong photographer, climate change advocate, and grateful husband (to Carol) and father (to Joseph and Matthew). He co-directs the Scholarly Concentration in Ethics, Equity, and Justice at the IU School of Medicine – South Bend and is the co-editor, with M. Therese Lysaught, of On Moral Medicine: Theological Perspectives on Medical Ethics. 

Dr. Brenda J. Srof

 

Brenda J. Srof, PhD, RN, CNL-C is a Professor Emeritus and former Chair  of the Department of Nursing at Goshen College. Her leadership at Goshen College contributed to the development of a Master’s Degree Program in Nursing and a dual Goshen College and Eastern Mennonite University Doctor of Nursing Practice Consortium. Upon retirement from Goshen College in 2020 and a move to Kalamazoo, MI, Dr. Srof became an Associate Professor of Nursing at Western Michigan University (WMU), Bronson School of Nursing. In addition to teaching and curriculum development work, Dr. Srof’s research agenda focuses on peacebuilding as a phenomenon of interest in qualitative research.

Brenda and Jody (spouse) enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. They are members of College Mennonite Church in Goshen, IN and active participants at Kalamazoo Mennonite Fellowship.
