The February 2014 issue of Mennonite Health Journal (MHJ) is now online! Many of the articles in this issue anticipate the theme of the MHF Annual Gathering 2014, to be held June 13-15, 2014 at Laurelville Mennonite Church Center, Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. That theme is Faith at Work: Practicing our Profession. The cover story features Tim and Kathy Wiens, a doctor and a teacher/social worker/author couple from Newton, Kansas. The story of how their personal lives and faith commitments have shaped the practice of their healthcare professions, is an inspiring example. A book review of Murray Nickel’s Rhythms of Poverty provides glimpses into the issues encountered when affluent North American Christians attempt to aid those who are poor in developing countries.
