Benefits and Resources for MHF Members

The basic purposes of MHF are carried out through program activities focusing on mutual support, education, mentoring, and mobilization for service. Benefits include:

Fellowship with other healthcare professionals seeking to integrate Christian faith and practice

You are not alone.  Other Anabaptist Christians share your concerns for keeping Christian faith, values, and ethics at the center of your personal and professional life.  MHF gives you the chance to interact with these folks in a variety of ways.

Creative networking within and among healthcare disciplines

MHF is a gathering place for those of like-minded faith. Browse this website.  Find your member colleagues through the members-only Directory.   Interact through Facebook.  Read the Mennonite Health Journal.  Come to one of our Regional Meetings or the Annual Gathering.

Annual Gathering for inspiration, learning, networking, and relaxation

Each year in the early summer, MHF members come from near and far for a weekend together called the Annual Gathering.  Inspiring plenary sessions blend uplifting worship and music with informative stimulative speakers.  Workshops for all interests provide additional opportunities to learn from each other and build networks of common interest and support.  All of this happens in a relaxing atmosphere that includes opportunities to enjoy the beauty and wonder of God’s creation!  Come and join us!

Communication via newsletter, journal, and regional meetings

Communication is vital for a diverse worldwide membership.  MHF gives you multiple ways to keep in touch with your member colleagues near and far.  Find an email address in the members-only Directory.   Read the monthly MHF Update newsletter.  Chat informally through Facebook.  Ponder the articles in Mennonite Health Journal.  Then, attend a Regional Meeting in your area.  It’s all there for you!

Seeking clarity on crucial ethical concerns in healthcare

Ethical issues loom in many aspects of our work.  MHF provides a forum for a discussion of the ethical issues you care about through communications media and in Regional Meetings and the Annual Gathering. Supplementing our work is a proposed new life for the Anabaptist Center for Healthcare Ethics (ACHE).

Building global church and healthcare relationships

The church is the worldwide community of God’s people. Healthcare matters to everyone, yet resources are not evenly distributed to address all healthcare concerns.  MHF helps its members see the larger picture and care about people around the world.

Supporting significant service projects

MHF members have the dual opportunity to support service projects locally and around the world.  Through donations along with dues and offerings at meetings, MHF members can give financial support to projects in which members and/or the larger church is involved.  Members also receive encouragement and support to volunteer themselves for service in underserved locations.
