SET 2013-14

Educational grants for cross-cultural service
 
Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHF) encourages persons studying for healthcare professions to learn and serve in cross-cultural mission/service settings in developing countries.  To further this goal, MHF provides educational grants for a Student Elective Term (SET). One student carried out a Student Elective Term in 2013-14.

Winona Houser was a student at Penn State University College of Medicine when did a Student Elective Term at Shirati KMT (Tanzanian Mennonite Church) Hospital during February and into March of 2014.

John StoeckleAs I seek to live out Christ’s call in my life, I have been guided to a career in family medicine and public health. I want to be a partner with underserved populations, sharing the love of God, and to be a part of a multi-pronged solution to inequity both locally and globally. In Zambia, I was reminded that I have to be intentional every day to allow a generous spirit to be cultivated within me, toward my neighbors in Philadelphia and my neighbors in Zambia.
