SET Participants

2019-20 Academic Year

Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHF) encourages persons studying for healthcare professions to learn and serve in cross-cultural mission/service settings in developing countries.  To further this goal, MHF provides educational grants toward travel and living expenses for a Student Elective Term (SET).

MHF is pleased to award Student Elective Term grants to the following students for the 2019-20 academic year.

Allison HochstetlerAllison Hochstetler is a medical student at Indiana University School of Medicine. She traveled from August 29 to October 24, 2019 to Eldoret, Kenya for a term at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital. Ali is originally from Goshen, Indiana and is a 2015 graduate of Goshen College with a major in biochemistry and molecular biology and a minor in Spanish. Read Ali’s SET Report

Stephen GraberStephen Graber is a medical student at Indiana University School of Medicine. He did an SET term with the Himalayan Health Exchange based in Himachal Pradesh, India, February 1-28, 2020. Stephen is originally from Goshen, Indiana and is a 2015 graduate of Goshen College with a major in Molecular Biology / Biochemistry and a minor in Music. Read Stephen’s SET Report.

 

Jesse Voth-Gaeddert was a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita in Wichita, KS when he did his SET in Uganda. Originally from Hesston, Kansas, Jesse graduated from Bethel College, North Newton, KS in 2015 and then served a year with Mennonite Central Committee’s Serving And Learning Together (SALT) program in Hanoi, Vietnam. Jesse graduated from medical school in May of 2020 and is now a Family Medicine Resident in Grand Junction, CO. Read Jesse’s SET Report.
