MHF Grant Programs – the Challenge

Back in the fall, the MHF Board was challenged by the high number of very qualified proposals for MHF’s two grant programs:

In the midst of an already challenging budget, the MHF Board took a step of faith to fully fund all of the worthy applicants. Now, a friend of MHF extends the challenge to all of us who believe that such programs can be encouraging and even life-changing for young adult professionals.

Pictured is Rebekah Maldonado-Nofziger with an Ethiopian priest she helped train to team up with health advocates to address the infant mortality rate in Ethiopia. Your grant to Rebekah helped her finish up her project and present it for her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Washington. She will report at Annual Gathering 2019 on this fascinating collaboration of government, university, and faith communities to address this significant public health concern in Ethiopia.

The interest continues! Already, MHF has four worthy applicants for 2019-20. Meeting our campaign goal will give a tremendous boost to not only this year’s remaining grant recipients but those coming on next year.

You can help! If you are coming to Annual Gathering, be prepared to give generously to the Sunday morning offering. And if you can’t come, you can give online or send a special check to MHF, PO Box 918, Goshen, IN 46527.

Indigo MillerI am personally thankful to MHF for offering valuable opportunities in leadership and networking as a young professional, and their generosity via the Steven Roth Memorial Grant Program in support of my public health volunteering in Tanzania.
