Reflections after the election
Thanksgiving this year comes on the heels of the surprising outcome of the most unusual and contentious election in the United States in recent memory. Regardless of how you feel about the outcome, two things are clear:

With the support of an educational grant from Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHF), I spent my Student Elective Term (SET) in Machala, Ecuador. A mid-sized coastal city in southern Ecuador, Machala’s growth has outpaced the development of many public services and economic resources. This has done little to change the rich culture and strong pride of the city.

Nearly two years before I was born, the Roth family grieved the loss of their son to undifferentiated adeno-carcinoma. His family and friends honored Steven by establishing a tangible ongoing influence representing these wishes through a memorial fund which provides for Steven Roth Memorial Grant Program. Now, over 25 years later, I have been granted the opportunity to take part in Steven’s legacy, reflecting the way of Jesus to which we are all called to devote our unique gifts and circumstances.
Medical Educators – Tanzania
Short Term Medical Educators Sought for Clinical Training School in Tanzania
The Kisare College of Health Sciences, in Mugumu-Serengeti, desires to attract physicians and nurses from the U.S. and Canada to volunteer to teach a semester or two at the school, which is a private school run by the Tanzanian Mennonite Church.
Exploring collaboration opportunities
The final point of the strategic plan recognizes that MHF is part of a bigger vision of God’s work in the world than what we as one small organization can carry out. Thus, MHF wants to explore collaboration with other organizations to maximize the strengths of both MHF itself as well as the other organizations.
